I have been inundated by invitations from BMW dealers for the launch of the new 3-series in South Africa on Saturday, 17 March 2012.
It will be very interesting to see what BMW’s new trim strategy delivers. They have reduced appearance and standard equipment packages to three distinct options, not counting the optional M Sport package. You will now be able to purchase a new 3 Series in either Sport Line, Luxury Line or Modern Line trim, each offering a unique appearance to the car. Each trim level also has it’s own key design, making sure everyone knows which one you drive when you throw the keys on the table.
With this being the sixth-generation 3 Series, will this car be as charmed as it’s predecessors? I will be attending the launch at Menlyn Auto, Pretoria, to decide this for myself.
